Not a legal document — a straight answer to the question people actually have before they upload a phone full of photos somewhere new.
Where are my photos actually stored?
In a private cloud storage bucket (Supabase Storage), not on our own servers and not on anyone's local machine. Each account's photos sit in their own private space — no other account can browse into it.
How long do you keep them?
For as long as your album or account exists. Delete an album and its photos are deleted with it. We don't hold onto copies after that, and we don't have a separate backup you'd need to ask us to clear.
Who can actually see them?
Only you, by default. Nobody at MemoraBooks looks through your photos, and no other user can query into your storage — that's enforced at the database level, not just by app screens. If you generate a share link for an album, anyone holding that link can view it; they can't edit it or download the rest of your account.
What happens when I share an album link?
The link opens a read-only version of that one album. It doesn't create an account for the viewer, doesn't ask them to sign in, and doesn't give them access to anything else in your MemoraBooks account.
Does any of this touch AI?
Not in this version — there are no AI features live yet. When AI features do ship, they'll be opt-in per feature: nothing is sent anywhere unless you deliberately choose to use that feature. When you do, only the specific photo you select for that action is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude) to carry out that one request — not your whole album, and not silently in the background. We'll label which albums used an AI feature, so it's never ambiguous after the fact.
Do you sell or share my photos?
No. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. Your photos exist to build your album — that's the only thing they're used for.
